The Ebony Angels Motorcycle Club was founded in 1994 in Raleigh, NC. Our founders met in a Motorcycle Safety Course at Wake Technical College. These ladies shared a passion to ride, and a common goal to form an all-female motorcycle club dedicated to giving to charity and changing the image of the stereotypical female biker. We negate the stereotypes that demote the image of female riders.

The Definition of “Ebony”
1eb·o·ny : A durable heartwood, which admits of a fine polish or gloss.

“Ebony” was chosen to represent Strength, Versatility, Endurance, Diversity, Radiance and Beauty. The name is not intended to reflect racial discrimination or imply that membership is limited to only women of color.

::Beginner Info
The Ebony Angels feel that safety should be the number one priority when operating a motorcycle. Therefore, one requirement to be considered for membership is the completion of a Motorcycle Safety Course. We recommend this class for beginners as well as for experienced riders. They offer an advanced course for riders with years of experience. Many local community colleges offer safety courses. Contact the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) at http://www.msf-usa.org, or call (800) 446-9227 for a course in a city near you. The beginner/re-entry course includes:
(1) two-day instruction
(2) motorcycle and helmet
(3) motorcycle license test waivers in most states
(4) discounts with some insurance companies
